Look for a deep reddish-purple rind that gives gently under light pressure. Avoid fruit that feels mushy or has an extremely hard, dry shell.
Score the rind shallowly around the middle, twist the halves apart, and lift out the white segments. Try not to cut into the flesh.
Eat the white flesh. Discard the purple rind and any firm seeds inside the larger segments.

I really loved trying the different types of durian. Each one was unique. For frozen durian, this is the best we've ever had. Very good quality. We will buy more! Here are our notes. Keep in mind, we purchased a variety pack, plus an extra one. Was fun to try them all as a family and record our findings. Our favorite was, of course, the King of the Durians!! #3- Puyat: smells stronger. Tastes less sweet. Stronger taste. #2- D101: smells less strong. Sweet, taste of vanilla. Almost herby. Distinct flavor profile. #4- Red Prawn: Smells very strong. Firmer flesh. More normal durian flavor. Sweet, but the durian flavor lingers more in the mouth #1- Musang King: Very slight smell. Softer. More custard. Sweet. Very nice flavor.

So good as always! My favorite fruit! Won this in a giveaway so it made it ten times better! My friends asked for a review, so I made this video and later described that the outside is a juicy lemonade flavor and the inside is basically a coffee bean!
