Origin: Sugar apples are native to the tropical regions of South America and the West Indies and are also cultivated in Mexico, the Bahamas, Bermuda, and South Florida. They are the most widely grown member of the Annona family.
Flavor Profile: While similar in sweetness to Atemoya, sugar apples have a distinct flavor all their own.
How To Eat: After receiving your sugar apple, allow it to ripen at room temperature (70 degrees or above) until it becomes soft all over. Once ripe, enjoy the flesh and discard the seeds. For more information, check out our video and ripening guide below.
